Petra & Wadi Rum May 2026

Below is just a suggested itinerary, but you can customize your own trip with other suggested locations upon request on dates that suit you.

Day 1 - Treasury

After meeting at Queen Alia International Airport at 12:00, we will then make our way to Petra.

After checking in to our hotel, we will then head out to explore the ancient city of Petra.

During the evening we will have a photography session at the Petra by Night show.

Day 2 - Monastery

At 06:00 you will be guided by a local guide into Petra to the treasury to see the highlights and a few of the best viewpoints on our photography tour.

At around 09:00 you will head back to the hotel before we begin our theory class at 11:00.

At 16:00 we will take the back entrance via Little Petra to the Monastery.

We will watch the sunset and have dinner beside the Monastery before beginning our night photography session. After we will hike back down and return to the Hotel.

Day 3 - Wadi Rum

After leaving Petra we will then make our way to the Wadi Rum desert.

Wadi Rum was set to many movies over the years and is famous for its Martian looking landscape.

After checking in, we will have lunch and then rest before dinner.

We will then head out for a night photography session.

Day 4 - Wadi Rum

After spending the morning up until lunch time relaxing at the pool, we will then head out at around 15:00 to tour the desert again. After touring around we will then settle on one of the many stunning locations to do a sunset and a night photography workshop session throughout the night.

Day 5 - Wadi Rum

After waking up and having breakfast we will then relax by the pool before heading out again to tour the desert. We will visit various locations throughout the night from sunset to late night.

Day 6 - Wadi Rum

After waking up and having breakfast we will then have a post processing class before heading out again to tour the desert. We will visit a dune and have camels posing as a subject on top of them for sunset and bluehour.

Day 7 - Farewell

Transfer back to Queen Alia International Airport (estimated arrival 12:30).

I am your host and guide on this tour.

After receiving a full introduction on the first day to Astrophotography, I will then prepare you with the knowledge and tools to go out and capture stunning nightscape and landscape photos just like mine.

In the following days, you will shadow me and try to take the exact same compositions as me in order to learn the workflow and the correct way to capture your images.

Alternatively, you are free to roam the beautiful landscapes around us and capture your own images where I would then come follow up, give tips, and also my feedback.

We will also be doing landscape, sunset/sunrise photography and so on.

Equipment Required

• DSLR or Mirrorless Camera

• Sturdy tripod

• Remote shutter release cable

• Wide angle lens aperture (f1.4-f2.8) preferably

• Hiking boots

• Warm jacket as temperatures can drop low in the desert at night

• Additional batteries & memory cards

• Camera lens cleaning equipment as it can get dusty in the desert

Prices

To book the trip, a non-refundable deposit of 1500 CHF (Swiss Francs) per person is required to secure your spot and the outstanding balance must be paid 90 days prior to the start of the trip.

• 3850 CHF (Swiss Francs) per person (Twin room sharing)

• 5100 CHF (Swiss Francs) per person (Single room)

Deposits need to be made via Bank Transfer.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

If a participant decides to cancel their reservation, they can do so at any time by communicating it as soon as possible to the official email address of the organiser barakatphotography@outlook.com.

However, you should keep in mind that the cancellation by a participant would create management difficulties in bookings as well as the risk of not reaching the minimum number of participants for the trip (and consequently the need to search for a new person).

For this reason:

The initial deposit of 1500 CHF (Swiss Francs) per person is non-refundable and non-negotiable.

If the cancellation request is submitted 90 days prior to the tour no additional cost will be charged.

If the cancellation request is presented LESS than 90 days before departure, it will NOT be possible to receive a refund of the full booking amount.

Unless the customer that desires to cancel his booking brings in another person who is willing to take their place by paying the total amount of the trip itself.
