I'm Benjamin Barakat, an astrophotographer passionate about capturing the night sky. My work has been featured in publications like National Geographic, Forbes, CNN, and the BBC. I'm deeply honored to have been named Milky Way Photographer of the Year for five consecutive years.
My journey into astrophotography began in 2018, when my wife and I spent countless nights mesmerized by the stars. That awe sparked a desire to capture what we saw, leading me to pick up my father’s old camera—with no experience, just curiosity and determination.
Since then, photography has taken me around the world, capturing the beauty of both Earth and sky. Along the way, I’ve learned that anything is possible—our dreams are simply waiting for us to chase and bring to life.
I’ve had the chance to work with amazing people in some of the most remote and wild places on Earth. The recognition my work has received is an honor - but it’s the stories, the late nights under the stars, and the shared adventures that leave memories to last a lifetime.
Beyond my love for family, nothing brings me greater joy than venturing into the night to photograph the universe. Sharing this passion by teaching and inspiring others is just as rewarding.
